I got low and let the pattern take over — no single leaf as the subject, just the rhythm of them curling against each other. Tri-X gave me the range to hold the shadow pockets between the leaves without losing the silver on every rib.

The light doesn't come from above here — it bounces off the canyon wall and floor.The window for the reflected light depends on where the sun sits that time of year, so it's never quite the same trip twice. Four frames to a roll on the GX617, so I had one real chance and one backup. This was the first one.
